Home Owners Manual


In 2004 Washler Construction introduced our Homeowner’s Manual.  We understand that you do not build homes everyday and that there are many details to the process that you may not be familiar with.  This manual is your guide to the construction and care of your new home and is written in an easy to read and understand format.  The highlights of the manual are:

  • Purchasing your home: Explains the purchasing of your new home.
  • Acquiring your loan:  Explains the application process, loan underwriting, Interest rates, loan closing, and contains worksheets to figure down payment, and monthly payments.
  • New home selections:  Explains standard features, optional features, custom features, selection hints, and change orders.
  • Construction of your home:  Explains the preconstruction conference, start of construction, job site safety, frame tour, appointment tours, locks and keys, plans and specs, quality, single source, trade contractors, schedules, construction sequence, and our customer wants to know.
  • Homeowner orientation:  Explains schedule for orientation, last minute activity, completion of items, feedback, and orientation forms.
  • Closing on your home:  Explains when, where, documents involved, the “final number”,  preparation, House keys, Garage door openers, mailbox keys, First mortgage payment, storing documents, utilities, community services, and moving hints.
  • Caring for your home: Explains homeowner use and maintenance, warranty, fire prevention, extended absences, energy conservation, appliance service, home care supplies, maintenance schedule, and air conditioning thru wood trim, 
  • The Washler Construction Warranty:  Explains your warranty coverages
  • The contract:  Defines the agreement.
  • The specifications:  Defines the features of the home.
  • The blueprints:  A set of prints reduces to 8 ½ x 11 for easy reference.
